About and independence

arXivv is an independent experiment, not affiliated with or endorsed by arXiv.

Not arXiv

arXivv is an independent experiment and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by arXiv or Cornell University. The name was chosen for convenience: the whole product is “swap one letter in an arXiv URL”. arXiv is a registered trademark of Cornell University.

Thank you to arXiv for use of its open access interoperability. This service was not reviewed or approved by, nor does it necessarily express or reflect the policies or opinions of, arXiv. (That is the acknowledgement wording arXiv asks API users to carry; see arXiv’s name and logo guidelines.)

What arXivv does with arXiv

Source Use
arXiv metadata (OAI-PMH, CC0) Stored and served as part of every response
arXiv’s HTML rendering of a paper Fetched on first request, parsed into the document tree, mirrored with its figures
Drop-in proxy Any non-arXivv path is passed through to arXiv with an identifying User-Agent

All requests to arXiv are rate limited and identified as arxivv/<version> (+https://arxivv.org; mailto:x@jxd.dev).
